Jared Ritter

Actor | Singer | Musician | Arranger

Hey! How’s it going?

Hello! My name is Jared Ritter! I was raised in the suburbs of Chicago, and I try to keep those small-town Midwest niceties and manners with me wherever I go. I’ve spent the last 10 years training and growing as an actor and musician, looking to bridge the gap between “classic” and “modern” theater.

I’m a huge music nerd, and I’m constantly studying the science and theory of music. I’ve garnered years of experience in studying musical theory, form, and score analysis and I’ve now become a frequent arranger and transcriber. Now, I’ve got information and help to offer others who want to also be a music nerd!

I’m an alumni of Southeast Missouri State University, having just received my BFA in Musical Theatre from the Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance in May of 2024. I’m a fresh New York transplant, and I’m excited to get my feet set in the ground here!

What’s Jared doing now?

The Three Musketeers

I was fortunate enough to be able to return to Theatre 121 as D’Artagnan in their production of The Three Musketeers, while also acting as assistant fight choreographer. It gave me the best opportunity I’ve had to hone my stage combat skills, while also testing my training I gained from college. This role was incredibly difficult to tackle, in terms of both complexity and presence (and cardio, wow!).

I couldn’t say enough about this production and this team. A phenomenal show, a beautiful production, and a story-book way to leave my hometown in pursuit of the big city.

SPRING 2025

What a blast! This past winter, I finished up production on Theatre 121’s Groundhog Day: The Musical as Freddie, while also serving as Dance Captain for the production! It was an incredible learning experience that taught me countless leadership skills and honed parts of my training I hadn’t had a chance to for a while!

This production was incredibly special to me. Not only was it with the theater company where I started performing as a child, but the original movie Groundhog Day was filmed in my hometown way back in 1990, so it was an incredible love letter to my town and my community.

Baby’s first professional show! I was so, so thrilled to be be a part of PrideArts’ production of [title of show] this past September, understudying the role of Jeff!

I was lucky enough to get two guaranteed performances with the principal and understudy cast, and it really was the best way to get my feet wet in the professional world!
